The recent local election in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines, held last May 13, 2019, resulted domination of Chua-Pineda kin as the three city council candidates secured three (3) seats for Sangguniang Panglungsod along with another seat for the city chairperson of the Liga ng mga Barangay.
The city councilors include Hon. Rachelle Erica Chua Pineda who won in her second term in office and a former Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President of Tacloban City in 2008, alongside Hon. Edmund Edward Chua, another former Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President of Tacloban City in 2010, and Hon. Nikki Chua, both in their first term in office. Hon. Eden Chua-Pineda, on the other hand, is the fourth member who is the city chairperson of the Liga ng mga Barangay as well as the incumbent national president of the Liga ng mga Barangay in the Philippines.
Hon. Edmund Edward Chua ranked second among ten (10) city council candidates during the election. Hon. Nikki Chua placed third and Hon. Rachelle Erica C. Pineda ranked ninth.
The winning of the said kin paved way to approved more imperative local laws, regulate relative activities, and bring more profound and unified humanitarian services for the constituents in the areas of Tacloban City.
